Job Description
My name is Anna, a native Brazilian foreign language educator, born in Rio de Janeiro. I possess a bachelor's degree in Humanities, Philosophy and Science from the University of São Paulo - USP.
Currently living in Chicago, I provide online (Zoom/Skype) lessons for individuals and corporate training programs. I have more than 16 years of experience teaching Brazilian Portuguese in France and in the United States.
I utilize a method called “Effective Total Immersion”; this means the student is immersed directly and immediately into the target language from the opening day of class. I start speaking Portuguese slowly and clearly, and use easily understandable cognates.
I strongly encourage my students to work on assignments at home, which we correct together during the following class. It is also important to devote time to reading, writing, and personal research.
