Besides a PhD in English (Shakespearean Studies) and formal and non-formal education in Persian, I speak Urdu and Pashto. My mother tongue is Khowar, a Dardic language spoken in the north of Pakistan. However, I have developed a taste for translating Persian poetry into English, so that the English readers may use the content for academic purposes. Sample translations: "Live so beautifully that Divinity may put to shame after your your death"(Iqbal); "Listen to the flute what it sings of/I sings of separations"(Rumi); "Even a woman will become a hero after reading Shahnama" (Firdousi). Besides translation, I can also interpret the content for them.
