Jazzymel - Profile

I am a singer/musician/songwriter. I am half Puerto Rican/Mexican decent, born in the US. I love languages and always wanted to learn to speak multiple languages. I am, unfortunately, not fluent in Spanish because I tuned it out when I was young from being made fun of because I spoke a mix of Spanish and English, so now I'm trying to become fluent in Spanish (especially to be able to have more conversations while visiting familia in Puerto Rico). I have travelled to other countries and realized that I love languages in general and while in those countries (France, Italy, Germany, Croatia) I paid close attention to inflections and tones and tried to mimic that while trying my best to speak their language with my handy dictionary in hand. Only when I had to did I use English (which unfortunately was a lot since I was JUST learning the language while there for a short time). I also picked up American Sign Language last year and have been trying to learn on and off. I now basic ASL, but I'm a bit rusty. My problem is consistency, so I thought this site would help. One of my dreams is to be able to speak multiple languages, so I really hope this site helps me do just that. I'm so excited to get started!
