Korean people say 안녕 to say hello and goodbye. But how do you distinguish? Is there a pronunciation difference? I asked but any Korean couldn’t answer my question.

안녕 we use this with friends or to younger people. it's same pronounce and accent with hi or good bye. it's easy to use, when we meet, we say 안녕, it means hi and when it's time to good bye, we say 안녕, it means good bye. it depends on situation circumstance.

You can use your tone to distinguish.  When you say "hello" in Koean , You can say like "안녕?"

"녕" is rising tone just like when you ask a question.

when you say "goodbye" in Korean, you can say like "안녕." "녕." is a falling tone used in a assertive sentence.
