They both mean the end or last of something, but finale usually refers to the ending of a performance. We use it in reference to plays, tv shows, movies, and the like.

”final” vs ”finale”.

”final” refers to the last performance of a play / episode of a TV series. However, the play is likely to be staged again somewhere else, such as in another city, or there will be another TV series being made later on.

”finale” - the last performance of a play / episode of a TV series. However, the play is no longer to be performed anywhere else or there is not going to be another TV series. The TV series is the last one to be made.

”final” is a more general term that can be used to describe anything that is the last in a sequence, while ”finale” is a more specific term that is used to describe the last part of a musical or dramatic performance. https://trafficjam3d.com
