Difference between UNDER and BELOW?

Let me guess, you meant to write the word UNDER.

Now, both words ”Under & Below” are prepositions and can both give you same meaning in many occasions but not all.

You can say the dog is sleeping under the blanket.

You may not be entirely right to say the dog is sleeping below the blanket unless you are hanging the blanket above the bed level.

When not sure of which to use, it is safe to choose the word ”Under” as it is widely used for something at a lower level.

Some English words are relative and the user is in the best position to apply them to the most suitable situations.

    You can be under the water but you would not be below the water as you would be in it beneath the surface. What an interesting little area.

    I like this definition but of course it is useful to be able to pinpoint the fact if the dog is actually completely below the blanket as opposed to just mostly covered. Very useful.)

    I would also note that the use of below in an organizational chart or in a company can have a bit of a negative connotation. As in He/she is below (Inferior to) the CEO.
