Sluggish means tired.

For example: I feel sluggish today so I will not go to the gym.

Lazy means you don’t want to do anything because you’re not in the mood.

For example: I am naturally lazy therefore it’s hard for me to achieve any goals without proper motivation.

Sluggish actually does not mean tired. Not precisely. Sluggish means slow to move. Like a slug. While a person who is sluggish may be lacking energy (tired), it doesn’t mean tired. Slugs don’t move slowly because they are tired. Neither do sloths. To say that sluggish means tired does not capture the meaning.
