What are some of the most important ones you MUST know or else you will feel very embarrassed?
For example : you should not say:
- "Je sens mauvais" (direct translation of "I feel bad") but "Je me sens mal". "Je sens mauvais" means "I smell bad" !

LeplgtMay 2020 There’s a lot but i’ll give you an exemple: i’m hot = je suis chaud Don’t say that in french especially if you are a girl ? but say « j’ai chaud » |
vincentMay 2020 ?
exRangerMay 2020 That's a good one (i.e., je suis chaud versus j’ai chaud) in French. In English, the only way one can really say this is "I'm hot" and it can mean one, the other, or BOTH of the French meanings... . Same goes for the expression "I'm hard." .
