Well, you could simply go w/ the direct translation for this one: "Lying by omission" or "A lie of omission", meaning simply to tell an untruth by "conveniently" omitting a piece of information. In US legal terminology it's called "Obstruction of justice", but that's legalese and not a fair translation of "mentir par omission".
