Do be sure to note that "like" and "as" are, in many "usages" of English (UK and USA), synonymous -- they convey the same meaning precisely.

Many people in many English-speaking countries do, in fact, use these words interchangeably (or, maybe more accurately, use "like" in place of "as"). This, however, is non-standard usage.
