SiobhankMay 2016 Hi Mayerly, it all depends on context and the speaker's intention. However, "sassy" means classy+sexy in a way. "Badass" means it "knocks you out" -it's "impressive" |
exRangerAugust 2019 "Sassy" can also refer to a person who is inclined to "talk back", i.e., respond in a manner that can be construed as (1) disrespectful and/or (2) rude.
"Badass": the word has somany meanings, implications, it's almost impossible to offer a consise explanation/definition. Suffice it to say that "badass", in general, implies an element -- person, idea, situation, etc. -- that conveys a sense of "seriousness" and "threat", or even "danger". It's a tricky one, this word.
Note re; "Sassy": Application of this term does not necessarily imply a "negative" connotation; I think someone has already mentioned that it can also convey a sense of "sexiness", and often does, in a positive sense.
ThanosDoddAugust 2019 I agree broadly. I'd say sassy is more fake, trash classy combined with an 'in your face' behavior.
When badass is used to describe a person it means that you don't want to mess with them
MayerlyMay 2016 Thank you!!
