  • Saturday’s journey

  • The spruce forests dominate the mountain landscapes in the South Urals.
  • In winter the spruce’s branches are covered by thick layer of snow.
    • Whole forest transforms to quiet, frosty wonderland.
    • On Saturday we visited the mount Peski, one of the nine peaks of Suka ridge.
    • We walked to the foot of the mount by the narrow path among deep snowdrifts for 3 hours.
    • Then we climbed to the snow-capped peak.
    • In Bashkirian the word ”Suka” means ”cold”, ”windy”.
  • But the weather was fine at the time.
    • Bright sunshine, the blue sky.
    • And amazing vistas all around us.
  • It was a great journey!
