  • A Velvet Season

  • We have a great period now, which in seaside towns is especially felt.
    • It’s velvet season or Indian summer.
    • The phrase ”Velvet Season” appeared in the end of XIX in tsarist Russia seeing to fashion to recreate in Crimea.
    • At first ”Velvet Season” called some weeks in April-May when royal court visited Crimea and exchanged fur clothes for velvet ones.
    • Later Velvet seasons moved to early autumn also due to the fact that autumn is rich for fresh fruits which is as pleasant as useful...
    • Most of our tourists have already gone and although the weather is perfect beaches aren’t so crowded, the sun aren’t so baking, but it’s still very warm air and the sea.
    • It’s very nice time, when the blue sky and good weather pleased particularly.
    • For the second year in a row we have a great September, although a year before that was the coldest one ever, so no guarantee at all for the next ones..
    • But now it delight us.
    • I also glad to see how our small town, floated with vacationers in summer, now returns to its usual rarefied state.
    • Besides, early and middle autumn is very beautiful with its changing nature - with thinning and bursting into autumn colours leaves, ripening fruits, thick fogs and its special air with fading sounds and life.
    • So pleasant warm time, I wish it lasted longer.
