  • Thoughts about self-help books.

    • Over the last four months, I’ve been reading a bunch of self-help books.Partly because of the plenty of prejudice many people have on these types of books.I can recognize many of the cliches which people complain about, like the excess in the number of pages, taking into account that most of the content might summarize in half pages.
  • On the other hand, there are a lot of anecdotes that only reinforce what had already been said.Besides, a few of them are a little unbelievable and the principles that they want to justify as universal, don’t apply to every situation.
  • For instance, in “How to Win Friends and Influence People “ by Dale Carnegie, he tells us a story in which he was doing something a little illegal and only for being nice, smile and recognize his mistakes to the police officer, this one didn’t fine him, though Dale was advised for the officer not so long ago.
  • Despite being said all these negative aspects, I recommend these books to anyone who wants to improve in any aspect of his life.
  • There are always at least one or two important life lessons or ideas that you can extract and apply to your life.
