Terror by Dan Simmons
- A book "Terror" by Dan Simmons telling us a story on 800 pages about journey and survival in a terrible life conditions.
- It's based on a real expedition in 1845 year, on 2 British ships "Terror" and "Erebus".
- Their goal was to find a short North-west passage.
- It was a very hard compaigh with many difficulties.
- The luck wasn't on their side and they had to spend more then 2 years inside a frozen in the ice ships.
- Because the ice didn't melt on their way for 2 years even on summer.
- And just like it wasn't enough, food supplies start to become spoiled.
- The ships after 2 years spent frozen in the ice threatened to collapse under the pressure of the ice.
- The third problem in this expedition was a huge and terrifying monster, who started to kill team members of the ships.
- It seems to me that the story is too long and borring sometimes.
- I think it would have been better if the story had had only about 500 pages, not more.
- The end of the book I liked very much, it makes the whole story looked not so dark and sad as it expected during reading.
- If you like to read about survival in a cold area it's a not bad book to read.
- When I was reading it reminds me novels of Jack London about gold diggers and indians of Alyaska.
