Always keep a pen and paper with you or a smartphone you can use to write things.
This simple tool can help you turn a simple conversation in true friendship. Especially if you share common interests. If you like someone, find a pretext to write down his phone number. Tell him you need info on his home region for example. You can even ask him to take you to his favorite places.

- Create a Facebook account (and use it!)

Facebook is the best way to keep in touch with friends. You can send them mail, "like" their publications or comment on what they do. It will allow you to stay connected to the people you meet. If you are interested in someone's life, they will be interested in yours as well.
You can use your status to announce your upcoming trips. You might get comments from people living or traveling in places you intend to visit. It gives you even more opportunities to share moments with your friends.

We gave you some tips to help you make friends while traveling. Some will surely help you to open up and step out of your comfort zone. However, we still have some advice for you: use your head!

Most people are very friendly and full of good intentions. But some still seek to harm you in some way or another. Exercise your critical judgment. Your personal safety is more important than any other advice described above. Never put yourself in danger. And always follow your instincts, especially when traveling alone.
