La famille de Danielle Casanova

Historical note: Danielle Casanova was a French militant communist and member of the French resistance. She was responsible for the French Communist Youth before founding the Union des jeunes filles de France. She died in Auschwitz.

Danielle Casanova est nèe le 9 janvier 1909 à Ajaccio, en Corse, dans cette île fière qui, toujours, à travers son histoire, a lutté pour l’independance et pour la liberté.

Danielle ne s’appelait pas Danielle, amis Vincentella, Vincentella Perini, et de ce joli nom corse, les enfants de la famille ont fait un diminutif plus doux encore: Lella.

Даниелла Казанова родилась 9 января 1909 в Аяччо, Корсика. Этот остров гордится тем, что  на протяжении всей своей истории его жители всегда боролись за независимость и свободу.

Она не была названа Даниэллой при рождении. Ее настоящее имя Винцентелла - Винцентелла Перини. Это довольно корсиканское имя. В семейно-бытовой сфере общения этих детей зовут проще (по уменьшительному имени) - Лелла. 

Danielle Casanova was born on 9 January 1909 in Ajaccio, Corsica. This island is proud that throughout its history it has always fought for independence and freedom. 

Danielle was not the name given to her at birth. Her real name was Vincentella - Vincentella Perini. In a family circle these children are called by their diminutive name (nickname) - Lella.
