To Learn is to gain knowledge or a skill either by practicing, being taught, or experiencing something.

To Study is to read, memorize facts, attend school, and similar things.

when someone "learns something", they understand it. when someone is "studying something", they are doing things, such as memorizing, to understand or learn something.

In a way, studying is the way or method you try to learn something.
