How to do a language exchange?

In order to have a conversation exchange, you need to do the following:
Exchange messages through the web site with members who live in your town. When you feel comfortable to do so, arrange to meet with one of them in a public place.
This is of course possible if there are members in your area who are learning your native language and who speak the language you're learning. If there are no matches in your area you can also search for an online chat partner.
There is no cost or homework involved and you learn the language in a social environment. Furthermore, you are more likely to learn slang and other things about a culture that you do not usually learn in a formal language class.
This depends on what skill you want to improve (speaking or writing).
It also depends on your personality, your availability, and the proficiency level in the languages that you are learning.
So keep up the tongue work!
Depending on your level, we recommend the following Language Exchange tools (from easiest to hardest):
- ONLINE SLOW WRITING: Find a friend and Use the Polyglot mailbox
- ONLINE SLOW WRITING: Forum
- ONLINE SLOW WRITING: Correct and get corrected
- ONLINE SLOW WRITING: Ask Questions and Get Answers
- ONLINE FAST WRITING: Polyglot Chat
- ONLINE FAST WRITING/SPEAKING/LISTENING: Virtual Polyglot Study Room
- OFFLINE FAST WRITING/SPEAKING/LISTENING: Real life Polyglot Meetings

Jean
